Congregational Care

Our church’s deacon ministry is comprised of fifteen church members who are called to assist in pastoral care, visitation, and contact of church family members. Deacons serve others and the church through their own spiritual giftedness; as such, they find ways to connect with and serve our church congregation with gladness.
On the third Sunday of each month, deacons deliver a short message and serve Communion to those residents of the Memory Unit and Assisted Living who wish to attend.
This dedicated group of individuals possesses the spiritual gift of prayer. When alerted, members of this group pray for specific needs within our congregation and community.
Those who are responsible for the care of loved ones meet in the fellowship hall at 10:00 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to share their concerns and challenges, and to provide support to each other. Additionally, the deacons’ caregiver support committee assists with meals, transportation, and the procurement of medical equipment as needed by members of the congregation.

Music Ministry

The music ministry at Franklin Baptist includes:

The Praise Band, Fueled by Faith, leading the congregation in worship through music in the contemporary service at 8:45 a.m. in the chapel on Sunday mornings.

The Chancel Choir leading the congregation in worship through music in the traditional service at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings

Whether it’s collecting a noisy offering to send to missionary friends here and abroad or working with disaster relief efforts nationally, Franklin Baptist Church’s membership is mission oriented. Our mission efforts range from collecting rags as a money raiser for our CBF missionaries at Union Mission in Roanoke Rapids NC, collecting eye glasses and hearing aids for reuse, buying gifts for Franklin Social Services Angel Tree, recycling plastic bags at the local Walmart, donating new and gently used clothing to our local Cooperative Ministries to going on mission trips to Slovakia, Romania, and Costa Rica. Our church always has a mission activity in the works. Through missions we show our love for others and help by providing needed resources. At the end of each year we review how our church has responded in the mission field. We are always pleased that our time, talents, and resources have gone to help spread Christianity to others.
