The Praise Band, Fueled by Faith, leads the congregation in worship through music in the contemporary service at 8:45 a.m. in the chapel on Sunday mornings.
The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship through music in the traditional service at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings
This choir is composed of bell ringers ranging in age from the teenage years through adulthood. The musicians ring in church and also participate in Virginia Baptist handbell festivals. Rehearsals are held on Mondays from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and child care is available upon request. The ability to read music is required for membership.
The Children’s Choirs sing regularly in worship; they also present a Christmas musical at the 11:00 worship service and at The Village at Woods Edge retirement community. Music Friends, a choir for children in pre-k and kindergarten, meets at 6:30 on Wednesday nights. The Children’s Choir is for singers beginning at first grade; their rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:30 p.m., September to May. Children in third grade and older may audition to participate in the Virginia Baptist All State Choirs, and Franklin Baptist typically has several singers who enjoy this challenging and fun musical experience.
The Children’s Chimes Choir teaches the basics of ringing chimes and reading music. This choir also introduces the children to Orff Instruments. Membership is open to any child beginning at first grade. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:30 p.m., September to May.
